I chose to focus on Parent Outreach. At this time, I email my parents at least 1-2 times a week. These emails range from a quick reminder to sign the field trip form, let them know their child is out of pediasure and as of just recently checking in on a student who is in the hospital. I also email pictures or videos and the parents have done the same. Just recently recieved a video of one of my students taking her first steps. As far as any other parent outreach, I send home a newsletter each month, which is sooooo boring. The newsletter informs parents of what there child will be working on for the month. Activities, books, songs, field trips, all this is included in the newsletter. I am going to try to create a home to school connection glog, that will include various information for the parents. My only concern is confidentiality. The glog is going to include pictures, video's and email addresses. I know I can set the glog to private, but I will still need permission from each parent to allow me to use there children's pictures on the web. For the purpose of this assignment, I will blur out the children's faces. I have the whole thing mapped out on paper. It looks great! Wish me luck!!!!!
